Lucite is a brand name for Acrylic. Other brand names for Acrylic include Plexiglas and Polycast. Over the years the words Acrylic and Lucite have become synonyms.
» WHAT IS ACRYLIC?
Acrylic was first introduced by the Rohm and Haas Company in 1933 (Plexiglas).
While it looks like glass, it is stronger and about half the weight. Acrylic is also crystal clear. Acrylic sheets can be cut, beveled, polished, and even formed in ovens to make from beautiful Acrylic Awards to stunning Acrylic furniture. Acrylic sheets can also be cut for windows, airplane windshields, cubes and Acrylic works of art such as Sculptures.
» CARE AND CLEANING OF ACRYLIC/LUCITE PRODUCTS
Special care must be taken when cleaning acrylic products. You should avoid household cleaners like Windex, 409, and Fantastik. The chemicals in these products can dull and craze the Acrylic. The best way to care for your Acrylic products, whether it be Acrylic furniture or Acrylic awards, is to clean with warm water and a small amount of liquid soap such as Ivory, rinse and dry. Always use a soft cloth as not to scratch the Acrylic surface.
» WHAT CAN I DO IF MY ACRYLIC PRODUCT SCRATCHES?
Items made out of Acrylic can sometimes scratch. Small or fine scratches can easily be removed by using products like Novus 2. For deeper scratches you might need to sand and/or polished them out with a buffing wheel. You can buy buffing and scratch removal kits from a company, like Craftics. We have a 5 year limited structual warranty on all of our acrylic products. For instance if a chair breaks within that period we will fix it or replace it. Assuming it has not been abused in some way. (Shipping cost will be at customer's expense)
Return Policy
Your satisfaction with our products, delivery and customer service is our top priority. Due to the fact that the entire Muniz collection is made on a per order basis we are only able to offer a replacement of the item if it is found to be defective upon delivery or if it breaks due to a defect. If this is the case please contact us.A customer service representative will provide appropriate return instructions to obtain a replacement.
Delivery Times
Please allow 3 to 6 weeks delivery on most items as they are made to order. Due to the size of most of the furniture and sculpture in this section we use a freight company to make deliveries. If small enough UPS will be used.The packaging and crating are included into the prices. Shipping charges are calculated and added to the overall cost during the checkout process
.Damaged Goods Most of our deliveries are via UPS and larger orders are through certified trucking services (common carrier). Damage is unlikely, but in the rare event your purchase arrives damaged or incomplete, please contact me. A representative will resolve any problems regarding damaged or incomplete shipments. If shipped UPS you must contact us within 72 hours of reciept of merchandise. You will need to retain the original packing materials to return any damaged items. If shipped via common carrier then order must be inspected at the time of reciept and if there is any damages you will need to refuse the shipment so that the refusal will be recorded on the bill of lading.
